What is the use of "Pay Per Click systems?
Pay per click, Pay by visits or more known as PPC (Pay Per Click) systems are publicity models based in the fact that the advertiser pays for each real visit you receive through the system. In a PPC browser, the advertisers bid to get the first positions in the key words of their interest. Those who bid higher get to place their advertisement in the top positions of the result list, getting a higher number of visitors but putting the price up of each visitor.
The main PPC systems operating right now in Spain are: Goodgle Adwords, Espotting and Overture. All of them feed the main browsers and portals in the net with sponsored results or publicity links.
Why do you need Pay Per Click campaigns?
Google, Overture or Espotting have pay per click programs. These programs allow the advertisers select a series of key words, associate URL’s to direct the visitors, headers and personalized descriptions for each key word, elements that will show up in the offered results by Google, Overture and Espotting as well as their corresponding nets of associates.
Overture and Espotting show their sponsored results before the search results of many web crawl engines and net directories. The order in which the results are shown will depend on the made bets by the advertisers. As far as Google goes, it shows its publicity results in color boxes to the right of the search results. The order of advertisers in Google’s case does not only depend on the advertiser’s bets but other elements such as the rate of clicks (Click-through Rate – CTR) of the advertisement.
The main advantage of the Pay per click systems is their capacity to provide with almost immediate visibility to the advertisers in the main web search engines and portals. The only inconveniences is that, in many occasions, a high cost that must be complemented with positioning campaigns in free results and systems of surveying their profitability.
